It features Rearfoot GEL® cushioning system.  Asics says that this benefits you because it attenuates shock during impact phase and allows for a smooth transition to mid-stance.  This pretty much means that when you are running and your foot hits the ground you are not going to feel it as much. Also after hitting the ground with the back of your foot you will easily glide to mid-foot stance.  Most people know about Asics GEL® and how comfortable it is.

They also feature Solyte® Midsole Material which is a lighter weight midsole compound than Asics standard EVA and SpEVA®.  Also the Solyte® features enhanced cushioning and durability.  This make the shoe lighter and more comfortable to wear.  It is definitely nice to have a shoe that is light and comfortable, it seems to make you run faster and have more fun playing the game.

The GEL-V Cut® shoes also feature Asics PGuard™ Toe Protector, this protector enhances toe durability.  So not only do you have good heal protection, midsole comfort, you also have toe protection.  This makes a perfect field sport shoe in my opinion.
