All Star Customs Keeps Memories Alive

Welcome To Our World
All Star Customs started our over 5 years ago as a hobby.  I always had a love for sports and playing all types of sports growing up as a kid in Ohio.  I was also interested in art and design.  I started painting canvas’s at the age of 15 in high school.  I remember seeing these sports figures that were being sold at stores.  They were so life like and cool to collect, but only one thing was bugging me, what about the players from the teams I liked?  So customizing them became a hobby of mine to bring my love for art and sports together!  I’m a Graphic Designer by trade and this has helped the journey of All Star Customs.
All Star Customs can create that memorable moment in a three dimensional figure!  They make great trophies, gifts and collectables for parents, fans and players.  I have had the privilege to touch many lives in 5 years of business, just some of the clients that i have worked with are Brian Hoyar (New England Patriots), Mike Alstott, Jon Gruden, Earnest Graham, Chris Hovan & Doug Williams (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Trent Cole (Philadelphia Eagles), John St. Clair (Chicago Bears & Cleveland Browns), Bryan Cupito (University of Minnesota), Tim Tebow (University of Florida) Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals), Calvin McCarty (Edmonton Eskimos), Ryan Kesler (Vancouver Canucks), Stacey Nuveman (US Olympic Softball Team) this is an example of some of the athletes that have entrusted All Star Customs to create that unique piece of art.

Today’s Moments Are Tomorrow’s Memories
A custom figure created by All Star Customs is that favorite moment locked in time.  I strive to create that special moment for my client, it’s more then a photograph and better then a trophy!  It’s that catch, the pass that won the game, your first goal, that dunk you want to remember and it can all be created in a three dimensional figure!

Practice Like a Warrior

Soldiers in every country train for battles.  Sports players practice for games.  What they do is very different but the reason they do it is not.  There are psychological and physical benefits to practicing for situations of high stress like battles and games.  Psychologically we train to build confidence under pressure.  We also train so that we become offensive and head into battle rather than shrink from it.  While sports are less life threatening than battles the same principles apply.  A football scrimmage with other team mates will help you mentally prepare for a game with an opposing team.

But the real benefit of practicing is the physical side.  You can have all the confidence in the world but if you can’t get the ball in the goal you do not have a chance.  Muscle memory is where the big advantages come in.  Doing a task a few thousand times will help get it ingrained into your muscle and into your brain. Shoot a layup 2000 times and you will be able to do it like clockwork.  The greats of the greats like Michael Jordan spent a lot of extra time on the basketball court practicing.  He was out on the court after everybody left and this simple fact made him possibly the greatest basketball player of all time.  Once you do something enough it almost becomes an instinct.  Soldiers practice shooting, rushing bunkers, and jumping out of planes.  They do this so that when they go to battle they will have that instinct and the edge over the enemy.

The more you practice the better off you will be.  You do want to make sure that you train or practice the correct way as well because if you do it wrong 2000 times you will not have the advantage but a great disadvantage.

I would suggest checking out some coaching videos that will help you learn how to practice the right way.  You can find hundreds of them at www.morleyathletic.com.  There are videos on baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

Morelyathletic.com also has the equipment you need to practice with.  Get the gear and the info and start practicing like a warrior today.

Are You Up To The Challenge The Vertical Challenger Jump Trainer Can Offer?

There is a lot of focus out there today on athlete speed and agility.  There are agility ladders, agility hurdles, speed ladders, speed chutes, climbing peg boards, training sleds, over speed trainers, bullet belts, speed resistors and so on.  The list of available training items that focus on speed or agility could go on for a long time.  Don’t get me wrong, both speed and general agility are very important and this type of training can really focus a players general skills.

Sometimes however it is important for athletes to focus on specific skills.  Football players need to focus on brute power and stability, golfers need to focus on hitting straight shots, tennis players have to work on the backswing for example.  When it comes to basketball or volleyball jumping is one of those skills.

You can find a nice assortment of products that assist in building the muscles that make players strong jumpers.  This article is going to focus on one product only.  The Vertical Challenger Jump Trainer helps you build muscle memory through repetition and it will actually measure your progress with each jump.

The Vertical Challenger Jump Trainer focuses on a simple concept.  The more you jump the better you’ll get at it.  The unit is simply a stand with an adjustable pole.  At the top the pull does a ”U” turn and comes back down.  On this part of the pole there are 12 red and 12 blue movable arms spaced at 1 inch increments.  You adjust the entire pole unit from 4 feet to 12 feet, depending on the players ability, and the player jumps vertically and swings their hand at the arms,  the ones they make contact with rotate to the left clearly indicating how high they jumped.  They can then jump again and again and again and again, you get the picture.  Each time they jump they try to get higher.

It’s a simple concept but it works.  The Vertical Challenger Jump Trainer is durable for years of use.  It comes complete with a reset pole so you can easily reset the arms for another jumper when needed.  This is a piece of equipment that will last for season after season of either basketball or volleyball.  You will find the Vertical Challenger Jump Trainer at www.morleyathletic.com along with a huge selection of other volleyball and basketball equipment.

Get In Shape For Summer Sports!

If you play sports all year long you may be in pretty good shape but you may not be in shirtless shape.  Are you in shape for the shirts against skins games?  Who knows who will be watching from the sidelines!  If not it’s time to start working on that as the summer is about to heat up.

When it comes to finding the right ways to lose that extra chub all it takes is a little extra effort.  An effective way of exercising is interval training.  This is pretty much a period of hard exercise followed by a period of rest.  There are many other articles out there that will get you the specifics on interval training.  I just want to give you some ideas on the exercise equipment that will help you get it done.

A basic item that has been used for years in training boxers and martial artists is the jump rope.  You’re laughing…?  When was the last time you tried jumping rope?  It is a simple cheap device that can get your heart pumping to the max.  Do a 5-10 minute interval training exercise with the jump rope and you will begin to respect it.  You can also get weighted jump ropes to help work out your arms.

Another basic item for interval training and working abs is the medicine ball.  The medicine ball has many variations these days but they all serve the same purpose.  They allow you to use a lot of the small stabilizer muscles in your body.  This will help tighten your abs and the rest of your body while making you more agile on the field.  Medicine balls are also great to use with a partner!

You can also use an agility ladder in your interval training program.  Your sports program may already use this but working it into an interval training program will get you results.  It will help your agility and increase your fat burning capacity.

One item that is required with any interval training is a stopwatch.  You can get a regular stopwatch, a table timer, or the jumbo wrist stopwatch.  The jumbo wrist stopwatch comes with a wrist strap, a lanyard, and a clipboard clip.  I would recommend the jumbo wrist stopwatch just because of its versatility.

So whether your in shape for the shirtless games or not it would be a good idea to try some interval training.  Summer is right around the corner and you don’t want to be one of the players with a shirt on when its 100 degrees out.
