Super Ropes – The Last Jump Rope You Will Buy

You may think that all they are is cheap toys for kids but if you have been involved in athletics or competitive fighting you surely know that the jump rope can be a lot more than that.  The jump rope is a simple piece of equipment.  A jump rope is long piece of rope or cable with a handle at either end.  You can actually buy them in their simplest form for PE classes, a piece of polyester rope with a knot tied in each end, now that’s a real jump rope.

Those who get involved in any type of endurance training are probably more familiar with the speed rope.  Speed Ropes are the fastest design of jump rope on the market.  They are a simple tool that can test an athlete and push them to their limit.  Quality speed ropes will feature ball bearings in the handles so that the cable will move smoothly and not bind while jumping.  They should be made of a durable material both in the handle and in the “rope” itself.

If you have made a habit of incorporating jump ropes into your workout program you have probably had a few ropes break on you.  Unfortunately many jump ropes are not designed for “serious” use.  Most would work great in an elementary school physical education class but a heavyweight boxer would destroy these in one workout.

That being said I would like to introduce you to the Super Speed Rope.  The Super Speed Rope is extremely fast, easy to use and perfectly balanced.  The coated stainless steel cable is attached to metal ball bearings inside of the durable plastic handles.  This is a serious piece of work out equipment.  Once a customer uses the super speed rope they will never go back to those flimsy alternatives.  Don’t be fooled by its simple look.  You won’t find any flashy colors, foam handles or pretty beads here.  This is a workhorse.  The Super Speed Rope is the choice of many training facilities because of its durability.  They are a truly a lasting investment.  You can actually get a nice discount on them if you buy 12 or more at a time at www.morleyathletic.com.

Now I know I’ve got you excited so hold onto your seat because I have one more surprise for you.  The Super Speed Rope has a  workout partner, the Animal Speed Rope.  The Animal Speed Rope features the same design as the Super Speed Rope but with the added addition of 1 lb or weight in each handles.  That’s and additional 2 lbs of resistance for an even better upper body workout.

So before you order your Super Speed Ropes or Animal Speed Ropes there is one thing you will need to know.  These ropes are each sold in 4 lengths based on user height.  You won’t find them listed as 9 foot or 10 foot ropes but rather short, medium, tall or extra tall.  The manufacturer believes that this will allow the user to pick a rope that will fit them best.  Trust me he knows what he is talking about.  I’ve spoken to him several times and his is dedicated to his craft and his belief in the quality workout that can be obtained with a Speed Rope.  So all you interval trainers out there, boxers, fighters, wrestlers… what am I saying…. all you people out there who want a good workout or want to outfit your athletes with jump ropes, that you won’t have to replace all the time, check out the Super Speed Rope and Animal Speed Rope before you place your next order.

Get In Shape For Summer Sports!

If you play sports all year long you may be in pretty good shape but you may not be in shirtless shape.  Are you in shape for the shirts against skins games?  Who knows who will be watching from the sidelines!  If not it’s time to start working on that as the summer is about to heat up.

When it comes to finding the right ways to lose that extra chub all it takes is a little extra effort.  An effective way of exercising is interval training.  This is pretty much a period of hard exercise followed by a period of rest.  There are many other articles out there that will get you the specifics on interval training.  I just want to give you some ideas on the exercise equipment that will help you get it done.

A basic item that has been used for years in training boxers and martial artists is the jump rope.  You’re laughing…?  When was the last time you tried jumping rope?  It is a simple cheap device that can get your heart pumping to the max.  Do a 5-10 minute interval training exercise with the jump rope and you will begin to respect it.  You can also get weighted jump ropes to help work out your arms.

Another basic item for interval training and working abs is the medicine ball.  The medicine ball has many variations these days but they all serve the same purpose.  They allow you to use a lot of the small stabilizer muscles in your body.  This will help tighten your abs and the rest of your body while making you more agile on the field.  Medicine balls are also great to use with a partner!

You can also use an agility ladder in your interval training program.  Your sports program may already use this but working it into an interval training program will get you results.  It will help your agility and increase your fat burning capacity.

One item that is required with any interval training is a stopwatch.  You can get a regular stopwatch, a table timer, or the jumbo wrist stopwatch.  The jumbo wrist stopwatch comes with a wrist strap, a lanyard, and a clipboard clip.  I would recommend the jumbo wrist stopwatch just because of its versatility.

So whether your in shape for the shirtless games or not it would be a good idea to try some interval training.  Summer is right around the corner and you don’t want to be one of the players with a shirt on when its 100 degrees out.

Shuffleboard Sets That Can Survive The Competition

Warmer weather is spreading across the country spring and summer sports will soon be in full swing.  Amongst them is perhaps one of the oldest sports on record.  A sport that beckons to athletes young and old.  A sport that was played by royalty in the 16th century.  A sport with a hall of fame so hard to get into only the names of 12 people grace it’s halls.  That sport is, drum roll, shuffleboard.  Ok so shuffleboard may not require its athletes to be at the peak of their physical condition but I believe it is that very fact that makes it popular.  Cruise ships depend on it to keep people from jumping ship, retirement homes promote it to keep the senior citizens from revolting against the staff, Henry VIII gambled with other nobles over the “shovillaborde” court in 1532 and historians have argued about its true origin for decades.

Shuffleboard is perhaps most popular for the more experience crowd.  It requires very little physical exertion which is great for player of all ages who are out for a leisurely game.  While you may not break a sweat the competition can still be fierce.  The game has been around for over 500 years and since then very little has changed.  In fact I’m sure you can still buy solid wood shuffleboard sticks somewhere although they tend to be damaged by moisture easily and thus do not offer the best bang for your buck.

So now that we’re all versed a little more in the history and popularity of the sport let’s take a look  at some of your equipment options.  While the majority of us would be happy with the Morley M13753 Deluxe Shuffleboard Set people using the equipment in commercial applications such as cruise ships, resorts or retirement homes should probably buy something a little beefier.

Since I mentioned the deluxe set I just want to elaborate on it a bit more for one reason.  Everything comes in the box.  I mean everything, even the court.  These deluxe aluminum shuffleboard sets come with the cues, discs and even a 15 foot long roll out court.  Roll the court out on you patio, deck or paved driveway and shabam instant shuffleboard.  A great value for around a hundred bucks if you ask me.  Plus you simply break down the cues, roll up the court and put it away when you’re done.  Simple and fun… isn’t that the way we all wish life was!

Commercial situations require a bit more oomph though and for that I would recommend a Dom shuffleboard set.  There’s no court in these boxes but the design and quality of the cues and pucks is top notch.  In fact Dom makes a professional shuffleboard set that is approved by the NSA.  Not the National Security Agency, although I’m sure they would like it, the NSA is the… you guessed it…. National Shuffleboard Association.  So not matter who hits your courts for some fun you can be sure there will be no complaints about the quality of the cues they will be using.  The set includes deluxe cues with swivel runners for smooth action and Arco discs that are chip resistant and water proof.  A great investment at around $200.

Believe it or not the professional set is actually not the most durable though.  If you’re main concern is durability then the Dom Institutional Shuffleboard set is the way to go.  The Dom Institutional Shuffleboard Set is a high quality; durable shuffleboard set that is perfect for schools, resorts, recreation centers and camps.  This set features high quality cues with blue fiberglass shafts that are wrapped in smooth polyester for added strength and a handsome finish.  One piece molded heads are made of fiberglass and reinforced with nylon and feature ball shaped tips for crisp action.  While this set doesn’t feature the approval of the NSA for tournament play it will delight cruise takers, retirees, campers and vacationers anyway.

So if you’re not a shuffleboard enthusiast yet give it a try.  It can be a lot of fun for the  whole family.  If you run a business that includes shuffleboard courts give a Dom shuffleboard set a try.  You won’t be disappointed.  You will find a complete selection of recreational games and sports products along with all the shuffleboard sets mentioned here at www.morleyathletic.com.  No matter what the sport, be a competitor.

A Portable Outdoor Scoreboard You Can Depend On

There have been a handful of affordable indoor/outdoor scoreboards on the market most of which have all been taken off the market over the years.  It would seem that making an affordable outdoor, multi-sport scoreboard is very difficult.  Indoor portable scoreboards are nothing new and you can find quite a few styles priced under $1000.  That’s great news for basketball and volleyball teams across the country but what about the baseball, lacrosse, soccer and football teams.

There are two important features that make an outdoor portable scoreboard so different.  The first is water resistance.  If your scoreboard can’t get wet it’s not going to last long outside.  The second feature is being able to read the display from a distance in sunlight.  Outdoor lighting conditions are much different than indoor lights and outdoor scoreboard require a different type of display to offer a crisp display that can be viewed form a difference.

BEFOUR SS5000 MORLEY ATHLETICThe Befour Indoor/ Outdoor Scoreboard is an excellent value.  It’s small size of only  28” x 20” x 3” and weight of under 20 lbs make it very portable.  Day-bright led digits are easily readable from all over the field, even in direct sunlight!  Wireless remote control is included allowing you to control the scoreboard from a distance of up to 300 feet.

This scoreboard can be used for most sports as well as to count up or down times,  It has a very loud horn, outstanding 300 foot visibility range outdoors and is made of aircraft grade aluminum with a Lexan® face for extreme durability.

To control the totally wireless system, the radio remote is easy to use and small enough to fit into a shirt pocket. With a 300 ft range, an official on the field can keep time and score as easily as a spectator on the sidelines. Each system has a dedicated radio channel that prevents interference from other scoring systems. Operation is intuitive, so formal training is not necessary.

So if you need an affordable indoor/outdoor portable scoreboard you have found what you were looking for.  The price tag is under $2000 making it an affordable investment considering it is built to last.  Learn more about this high quality indoor/outdoor scoreboard and buy yours today at www.morleyathletic.com.

Stopwatch or Transformer?

Do you have problems seeing your stopwatch?  Do you have trouble figuring out what each button is because they are so small?  Do you wish your stopwatch had bigger digits and was easier to read?  How about versatility, do you wish it could go on your wrist, be held on your hand, or even be clipped to a clip board?

Well there is a solution to your problems; it is the Referee Jumbo Wrist Stopwatch.  This stopwatch offers a big digit display. Each number measures ½” high by ¼” wide.  It is great for sports like football, soccer, wrestling, basketball, lacrosse or any game and fitness timing.  Referees and coaches alike are just raving about it.

The Referee Jumbo Wrist Stopwatch features: 1/100 second precision, maximum count up 9 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds.  It also counts down making this timer very versatile.  It counts down from maximum 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.  It has 3 count down modes:  count down and repeat count down from preset, count down and then up from zero, and count down and stop at zero.

It has standard 12/24 hour format and a daily alarm with hourly chime.  Also when it gets a little darker out The Referee Jumbo Wrist Watch has electro-luminescent black lighting.

It also comes with a wrist lanyard so you can hold it in your hand.  Last but not least it comes with a clipboard clip which allows you to attaché the timer to a clipboard, your belt, or your clothing.

Also I should mention it is water resistant which means that if it gets a few raindrops on it there is no need to worry.  It doesn’t mean that you can go swimming with it.
