Deaths due to sport induced heatstroke can now easily be prevented. As a mother I feel compelled to ensure that this information is shared as quickly as possibly as the heartbreak of losing your child to football, extreme sports, etc does not need to happen. A company called Fox 40 has developed the Heat Alert Mouthguard. This mouthguard changes color as the player's internal temperature reaches 102 degrees and fully changes color when their body temperature reaches 105 degrees. It is now as simple as having a player stop what they are doing when their mouthguard starts to change color. They can be cooled and rehydrated in a timely and lifesaving manner!!
