Basketball Nets - Which and Why

<:od>In a world full of high tech training products and new fangled equipment we often forget about the basics. One of the basic essentials to basketball is undeniably the net. Yes you need the goals, the backboard, the ball and perhaps those things should be looked at harder when deciding which to purchase but that doesn't make net choice any easier.

The most common question I get when someone wants to buy a basketball net is... What's the cheapest anti whip net you got?

Ok I am thrifty too but the cheapest, as many of you know I'm sure, is not always the most economical purchase. There are times when the cheapest may be important... outdoor hoops for instance. Net on outdoor hoops are constantly being destroyed by vandalism or players hanging on them. Here is where I recommend my cheapest anti-whip net. Believe it or not though there are still high quality nets available and to be honest investing $20 a pair could save you money in the long run as well as providing a better playing experience.

Let's take a look at a few of our options from least expensive and up.

Most of our customer buy our standard anti-whip basketball net and would be surprised to find out that for just a dollar more they could be buying our "deluxe" anti whip net that features a larger 6mm diameter cordage. While this is only a 1mm difference in cordage diameter the result is a much stronger net that will last longer. At around $5 a net you can't go wrong.

Next we step up to Carron Net Anti Whip Nylon Basketball Net. This is the original absolute anti whip net. Pioneered by Carron Net, the original Anti-Whip design is the very best for Professional, College and High School team use. The top half of these nets are made of durable fibers encased in tough 100% nylon and prevents the net from whipping up on the rim. The lower half of the net is Carron Nets strongest nylon. Use on all no-tie hoops. While more expensive at around $9 a net you will get more bang for your buck with these nets.

Last but not least, and sort of a blast from the past is the Carron Net Anti Whip Cotton Basketball Net. The fine tightly woven strands of 100% cotton are extremely durable. This net is best used indoors as it is a natural fiber and should be kept dry. The upper portion of the net is encased in nylon so it is anti whip. These aren't the most expensive basketball nets on the market but at around $20 bucks or more a pair they could still be considered an investment when it comes to basketball nets.

Consider yourself informed now. If you've been in the game for a decade or more I'm sure you've used these types of nets in the past and I encourage you to give them a try again. As athletic budgets are dwindling throughout the country it may be hard for many people to justify buying top end basketball nets but as many have experienced the top end nets could last much longer saving you money in the long run... not to mention the aggravation of constantly changing those cheaper nets.

Dodge Ball Safety

Dodge Ball has been around for many years it is played mostly in physical education class but there are also leagues popping up all over the place. While adult league can get away with being rough it is a good idea to play as safe as possible in physical education class.

Basic Play: There are 4-10 players per a team/side. The dodge balls are placed on the center line at the start of the game and the players start at the back line. The number of balls depends on the number of players in the game. You can have enough balls for each player or a couple less to make it interesting. The ref of the game yells dodge ball and the players run to the center line to collect the balls. Once a ball is collected the player needs to run back behind the safety line before he or she can throw the ball at a person on the opposing team. If person is hit by a ball they are out of the game and sit in the out area. The only way someone can get back in the game is if a person on their team catches a ball that is thrown at them. If a ball is caught then a player from the side that the ball was caught goes back into the game. The object of the game is to get everybody on the opposing team out.

There are many different kinds of balls that can be used in the game of dodge ball but the safest is the Rhino skin foam dodge ball. This ball is not only safe but affordable. Light As A Feather But As Sharp As A Knife

Lacrosse is no stranger to break through technology. It seems that since the sport really started spreading through schools in the United States the equipment used on the field has gone from near primitive to some of the most advanced technology in sports. QUICK START TENNIS- A FASTER APPROACH TO TENNIS TRAINING

When it comes to teaching tennis in Physical Education classes teachers are faced with a major resource problem. Most public schools only have a few tennis courts to use so students spend half of their class time waiting to play rather than learning technique.

Of course there has always been a host of portable net systems or lesson plans that include using the gym to play but staying organized and purchasing multiple sets of game standards and other equipment can get very expensive.

Soccer Leg Drills

Soccer is a game that is loved by many people around the world. That battle between two teams is what sparks the rivalry to be the best. A soccer player needs to eat, breath, and sleep soccer to be the best. And during that time he needs to practice, practice, and practice. Legs are very important in the game of soccer, and it is very important to train the legs to have flexibility, speed, strength, and agility. If you train your legs properly you can improve them greatly and by doing so improve your game. Lets get into a few methods for training your legs.

1. You can train your legs first and foremost by running. Running will help with your endurance and muscle strength. Running is very important not only in training your legs but also your cardiovascular system. You can run a few miles every other day and this will keep you in shape. Or you could change it up and run in intervals. During interval running you run for 30 seconds and then sprint for 15 seconds, run for 30 seconds then sprint for 15 seconds. You repeat this for about 5-10 minutes at a time. This will kick your butt but this kind of conditioning will give you strength, endurance, and speed.

2. You should train with either agility hurdles or an agility ladder or both. These will give your feet coordination and coordination is very important. You can do many drills with agility hurdles and an agility ladder. One of the ways to use agility hurdles is to set them up and side step over them and then front step over them. Switching this up will be a muscle confusion exercise which is great for your speed and agility. The agility ladder can be used to increase your speed. The rungs on the agility ladder can be moved to your acceleration zone giving you a marker where you need to be. Or you can just run through the ladder side to side. There are many different ways to configure your training with these items.

3. Obstacle course flags are a must. Obstacle course flags will help you with your ball handling skills. A basic in and out drill works best, widening or narrowing the gaps keeps it challenging. Controlling your breathing and focusing on the ball while maneuvering around the obstacle course flags will improve your agility. An hour of this work out will leave you feeling exhausted but will give you the edge you need when it comes to maneuvering around your opponents on the field.

4. Speed chutes work great for improving speed. Speed is a must in soccer, if you get to the ball or down the field before your opponent then your in good shape. A speed chute may seem a little over the top but if your serious about training then it is a must. These chutes come in varying resistances so you can get one that fits your strength. Adding that little extra speed could be the difference between a game won or a game lost.

5. Stretching is very important. You can get a stretch out strap to help you with your stretching. Stretching can improve your flexibility, strength, and agility. You just want to make sure that you are stretching correctly. It is best to get professional advise on how to stretch because if you don't do it correctly it can easily take you out of the game.

Go get training, if your going to be the best you need to train like the best. You will need to practice every day and train your legs to give you the edge in the game to win. We get a lot of calls about air horns. Air horns come in many colors and sizes and with so many to choose from it can be hard to tell which is best for your needs and budget. Then there are the calls from coaches and equipment managers who are trying to determine which refills fit their horns. This quick article will explain the major differences between 5 popular models and will teach you how to pick the right refill for your horn.

The first horn to look at is the most popular seller of all time. The Falcon Push-Button Signal Horn is great for athletic events, rescue or any emergency signaling. This horn offers a blast louder than any other push-button horn available and is 100% ozone-safe and non flammable. This horn comes with a full 8 oz. refill. That's a full size refill for a lot of signaling. This horn features a blue top and the matching refills will say "push button" on the can.
